In 1994, Gat Ramon founded what is now Cabka Group, which develops effective technologies for the processing of hard to recycle plastics, with post-consumer mixed plastics at the forefront. The aim was to produce product solutions that had a better economic and ecological footprint versus alternatives.
In 1998, Cabka launched its first plastic pallet made from recycled material. Ramon expanded Cabka internationally initially through organic growth, including expansion into the USA in 2005, and later he initiated numerous targeted acquisitions, including the acquisition of the Belgian company IPS Innova Packaging in 2012 among others, reaching a current footprint of seven locations in Europe and the USA.
It was important for Gat Ramon to combine economic efficiency with ecological sustainability. Today, Cabka is an expert in value-added product solutions made from recycled plastic and has one of the most extensive portfolios of plastic pallets on the global market. Acknowledging innovation is an overwhelming factor in creating a brighter and stronger future, Cabka has opened its Innovation Centre in Valencia in 2017 to elevate work on materials knowledge, process engineering and applications development.
Gat Ramon is the majority shareholder of Cabka and is responsible for the Group Strategy, Business Development and Innovation for both, recycling and products.
