PCEP Gala Dinner & Annual Conference 5-6 June, 2024

Annual Conference –
Bridging the Gap: Collaborating for Circular Polyolefins
5-6 June
2024, at The Hotel Brussels

PCEP brings together all parts of the European polyolefin value chain: brand owners, retailers, waste management organisations, recyclers, converters, producers and other stakeholders. Together, we seek to transform the entire polyolefin system from linear to circular.

The conference addressed the pressing issues facing Europe’s road to a circular economy and net zero future – we heard about the EU’s plans to advance this agenda, what support is needed for industry to get there, and how collaboration will be key to success.

We were honored to feature an exceptional lineup of policy and industry leaders at our recent PCEP conference, sharing invaluable insights on advancing the circular economy:

  • Emmanuelle Maire, Head of Unit, Circular Economy, Sustainable Production & Consumption, DG Environment:
"Recycling is a crucial component of making plastics circular, but we must also prioritize prevention and reuse. The Commission applauds PCEP's value-chain approach in driving these essential aims."

  • Céline Domecq, Director of Public Affairs EU, Volvo Cars:
"Circularity is at the core of Volvo’s ambitions, and we continually explore ways to increase recycled content in our vehicles."

  • Otto Linher, Senior Expert, REACH Unit, DG Internal Market, Industry, Enterprise and SMEs:
"The EU Chemicals Strategy emphasizes chemical safety, but it’s essential to link this with other societal goals, including the green and digital transitions, as well as circularity."

  • Christoph Lindner, Managing Partner, Conversio:
"Our latest study reveals significant opportunities to enhance polyolefin recycling in Europe. With the right investments and technologies, we can achieve greater circularity."

  • Kristy-Barbara Lange, Head of Public Affairs, APK

Our esteemed PCEP President, Volker Glöckner, concluded the conference with a powerful reminder:
“Circularity is both the means and the end. To achieve it, all parts of the value chain must work together. This is PCEP’s founding mission, and one that I wholeheartedly support.”
